The P938 STAND from SIG Sauer.

SIG Sauer is doing something cool to honor military vets and first responders.

The “Complete Systems Provider” unveiled the P938 STAND, a special edition of company’s P938 platform.

This compact 1911-inspired pistol chambered in 9mm features an array of custom features.

Features include a laser-engraved stainless steel slide, a black hard coat anodized frame, an antique bronzed-finished flag medallion embossed in the custom grips, and SIG’s tritium sights. Most notably, though, is the word “STAND” that appears on the ejection port side of the gun. A shoutout to all those who put their lives on the line to preserve and protect freedom.

The result is one sharp-looking patriotic pistol. Not sure the stock photos do it justice.  Make sure you check out the video below to get a better view of this beauty.

SIG teamed up with United Sporting Companies to bring the P938 STAND to market.  Part of the proceeds from the sale of each pistol will go to benefit H.A.V.A. (Honored American Veterans Afield) and C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors).

“When United Sporting Companies approached us with the STAND concept, we immediately thought it was an outstanding idea to show support for our country and our flag, and all they stand for,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER.

“The concept of supporting veterans and first responders made the idea even more compelling. It is important to us at SIG SAUER to find ways to work with service organizations like H.A.V.A. and C.O.P.S. in order to support our injured veterans and the families of fallen law enforcement officers,” continued Taylor. “That commitment is at the very core of SIG SAUER’s DNA.”

“We felt that the STAND idea was a great idea to honor our country and those who serve America,” said Brad Johnson, CEO, United Sporting Companies. “Our veterans and first responders are the finest examples of what we as a country have to offer. Their selflessness and commitment to put the needs of others above their own deserves our admiration and eternal gratitude, and we should all do what we can to support those who have given so much.”

Like the looks of the P938 STAND?  Well, this is just the beginning.  SIG plans to release P238 and 1911 STAND variants in the coming months.

Andrew,I just retired after 27 years of protecting the rights of the people I served in my community. Not only the rights of people like you who apparently believe that just because you want something, you are entitled to have it,but the rights of people who the object of your desire belong to. It was a daily battle to have to tell people “No dont steal that. No dont shoot that guy/girl. No dont swallow all that cocaine. No dont punch your wife/mother/daughter/neighbor. No dont drunkenly drive your vehicle into oncoming traffic. etc. etc.” I purposely and willingly went into harm’s way every day to protect strangers rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, just because it was the right thing to do. Just because YOU dont agree with it doesnt make it wrong.

It’s a shame they didn’t do this on a full or commander size 1911. I would have ordered one yesterday.

I doubt the people who have money to drop on a sig are going to go for such a cartoonish design. It will be sold at discount like the other 938 design with the stars all over it

Cops preserve and protect our freedoms? The sick irony…
SIG you’re not funny and this gun is idiotic.

Next time you are in trouble call blm or antifa, i am sure they will do what they can to protect you and your rights.

Cops don’t protect anyone’s rights. And they are not obligated to protect anyone’s life either.
They infringe on our rights daily. Destroyed 2nd amendment in multiple States.
        Cop worshipper.

125 cops were killed in 2017 protecting your ability to think and say things like that. But you’re probably right, they don’t protect people. They don’t go into domestics or respond to some person intent on killing random people or try to find the person who stole your stereo or assaulted you. Thank goodness we don’t have to worry about those things.

      Hello, Andrew,
Thanks for sharing your opinion on “cops” and as of January 11th, this “cop” of 29 years also wishes to reach out to via this medium to say thank you for making me reflect, introspectively. When one makes the choice to “help people” and then delves deeply into directly witnessing man’s inhumanities to man, day after day, year after year, it often causes a deep jading and oftentimes a cynicism that pounds on the initial innocence of trying to help people, turning it to a lack of desire to help anyone at all. So I seek motivations to combat the jading, and find pity, and lean upon that pity.

Based on your very limited post, I will assume that you are educated beyond high school. I pity you for believing the misnomer that you would find great success in this world after exposing yourself to the hard left liberal agenda of higher education, and have found ways to come up with thousands upon thousands of dollars to achieve a degree that you are quite possibly finding either worthless, or, at minimum, a false advertising of the possibilities of success.

I will also make another assumption that you are under 30 years old. I remember when I was under 30, and how much I thought I knew about how things are in this world and how this world works. My naivety, in retrospect, was downright pitiful. I pity you for suffering a similar affliction.

A final assumption, Andrew. You probably don’t have children. Yet. But, when you do, if you’re any kind of a decent parent, you will worry about them in this big, bad and nasty world. You’ll get a bit emotional when one of them comes home one day as a victim. Maybe of bullying. Maybe of a theft of their bicycle at the park. Maybe by the motorist that brushes them as they cross the street. Your perspective will change on life, and on things in that life, like the “cops”. OR, maybe you’ll be that parent that tells your offspring to “be good, or that cop will arrest you”. I pity you for the opinion you have of “cops” today, and hope children in your life changes that. OR, conversely, I pity you if you teach your children to fear those “cops” at every turn.

BUT, in your defense, I, too have struggled with the new breed of policemen and the new style of policing. Things began to change towards a militaristic approach to policing in the mid ’90’s. I fault the “COPS” grants of that era, for flooding numerous police departments with tax money to hire an extraordinary amount of people into the craft. The caveat was a more nationalized training standard, rather than localized, as one of the many problems with the exchange. So, now more than ever, we don’t have creative thinking in our craft, but, instead a learned skill as the craft slowly dies. Another of my pities.

So, I hope that if and when you ever need the services of a policeman, that you’re blessed to run into an old guy, hired prior to 1996, who will take a bit of time with you to help solve your ills with some creativity, rather than reading from the prepared script. But, if you don’t, no worries, I’ll have even more pity for you.

And for a bit of transference of pity, I have to direct it towards Sig Sauer. I’m the proud owner of a few Sigs, P220 in .45 ACP for duty, for example. And of my humble, yet growing collection, I’ve been blessed enough to own a P320 in .357 SIG. I found that gem to be the very best firearm I’ve ever handled, from out of the box, to back from the customization shop and then quite comfortably into my concealable holster. It’s a pity that Sig offers their STAND in a SAO and such a small caliber. Otherwise, I’d pity the person on the opposite end of my brand new STAND in .357 SIG, or .45 ACP, with their delicious striker fire and modularity system.

In closing, Andrew, I pray that you expand your mind, expand your horizons and unplant your head from its sandy home. Wake up and look around, and ask your fellow protesters how the hell they got time off of work to attend that rally in the middle of the day when the productive counterpoints toil and produce. And then, in time, you won’t be so darn pitiful.

That’s all for now, I’ve got to put on my superhero costume and get back out there and save the world . . . God bless!
