Springfield SAINT Victor .223 Pistol

The new SAINT Victor .223 Pistol from Springfield Armory is one of their latest offerings in the SAINT lineup.  Springfield describes the Victor lineup as their “purpose-built platform” designed and engineered to professional standards. From the pinned gas block to the magnetic particle tested bolt carrier group (BCG), the Victor series delivers ultimate reliability. The Victor models fall between the original SAINT and EDGE.

The Victor Pistol comes with a nice soft case, one 30 round Magpul Gen M3, and standard gun cable lock.  It features a 7.5-inch stainless steel 1:7 twist rate barrel that is Melonite coated for corrosion resistance and durability. The .300 BLK version comes with a 9-inch CMV 1:7 twist rate barrel that is Melonite coated as well.

If you have ever shot a short-barreled AR pistol in .223/5.56 then you know how deafening and concussive it can be. Springfield solved that issue with their new Forward Blast Diverter muzzle device.  It controls and directs all the muzzle gasses forward and away from the shooter versus exiting the muzzle at a 90-degree angle.  Your ears and fellow range attendees will thank you.  The .300 BLK version comes with a standard A2 birdcage muzzle device and an adjustable gas block for suppressor use.

Springfield uses a slim M-Lok free-float handguard that comes with a forward hand stop to prevent shooting your fingers off. The top of the rail is flat for comfortable thumb-over grip shooting styles and still has standard Picatinny rail space in the front and rear for sights or optics. M-Lok slots surround the handguard on all sides allowing for endless mounting possibilities for your accessories.

The upper receiver houses a Melonite coated BCG that’s been magnetic particle tested for defects ensuring reliability. The Victor series uses a standard GI charging handle that comes with a forward assist. Springfield’s AccuTite Tension System makes the upper and lower receiver feel as one piece. There is absolutely no play between the upper and lower.  The buffer assembly contains a heavy tungsten buffer weight to help slow down and reduce felt recoil.

Springfield updated the trigger to a single-stage, flat-faced, mil-spec style trigger for the Victor models. The nickel-boron coated makes the trigger pull extremely smooth. There is none of that gritty feeling associated with traditional mil-spec triggers. It has a short travel and crisp reset.

The forged lower receiver has a Bravo Company MOD 3 pistol grip with storage compartment and a Bravo Company trigger guard. An enlarged magwell makes it possible for faster reloads. The lower backplate has a QD attachment point for use with a sling. The new SB Tactical SBX-K pistol brace has a lower profile than the previous version.

Weighing in at only 5.5 lbs., the Victor Pistol is easy to carry and use. The overall length is 26.5 inches making it an ideal choice for a home defense or truck gun. MSRP on the new SAINT Victor .223 Pistol is $1,015. You can find one for less from your local dealer on GunsAmerica.

This is a .223 rifle. I have a box of 500 count 5.56s. Can this rifle fire 5.56s without any detrimental effect?
