To test out Trijicon’s VCOG 1-8×28 riflescope and to see how well the controls tracked, I did my version of “shooting the box.” My very short version of the longer story? The Trijicon VCOG 1-8×28 riflescope was and is an amazingly good and functional optic.

If you are looking for a scope for precision competition or the hunt of a lifetime you owe it to yourself to give the NX8 offerings a serious look. I think the NX8 F1 line of scopes with the wide range of magnification choices, focal plane options, Mil or MOA adjustment options, reticle options, and illumination choices leaves little else to be desired.

It seems that everyone is making a budget rifle scope these days, but that is a great thing! Competition leads to innovation in the industry and lower prices for the consumer. Viridian Weapon Technologies has a line of optics and I’ve been playing with the pinnacle of their lineup: the 3.5-10×40 SERAC.

The Outfitter GII is also available in .35 Whelen, 35 Rem, .357 Mag, .44 MAG, and 450 Bushmaster. This is a handy little rifle, easy to carry and pack, and will fit nicely in a hunting blind or tree stand.
