Fiocchi may not be the most recognized name among ammunition manufacturers, but those in the know understand it has an impeccable reputation. It should, since the family-run business began back in 1876. Today the company continues that legacy of quality, but with something of a twist. Let’s face facts, Americans are gobbling up ammunition faster than companies can churn it out (we all know how hard finding .223 Rem. at your favorite gun store can be). Is it all being shot at the range? Personally, I don’t think so, or I wouldn’t have so many people ask, “Are you saving your brass?” Last year Fiocchi came to the same conclusion I did, and it introduced ammo in a can. It stores neatly, stacks, is impervious to the elements and ready when you need it. It’s a pretty neat idea and you can get them filled with buckshot, slugs, .223. Rem., .308 Win. and rimfires. This year the company stepped up that effort, with ammo in more-voluminous waterproof Plano boxes. Yeah, they sort of look like metal ammo containers of yesteryear, but they’re polymer, so they won’t rust and your emergency fodder won’t get ruined when the next Superstorm floods your basement.

I would advise any of you out there to not buy from anyone who is price gouging! I live in Ohio, and dealers here are NOT raising prices one cent! I commend them for this during these difficult times. I know many of you are having hard times finding what you need, but with a bit of patience and common sense you can find what you need at the correct price, whether it’s local, or on the internet. I have also seen people trying to sell Magazines for as much as $60 for an AR mag. That is ridiclous! Ammo IS going up, but you should not pay more than .50 per round for 5.56 (as of 1/30/13) so the people who are charging 1250 for 1000 rounds are thieves, pure and simple! I also noticed that Gander Mountain was remarking 1000 round boxes of ammo that had previously been priced at $495, to 2000 rounds and marking them up to $999. I don’t know how you can magically fit another thousand rounds in the same size box??? They are also selling guns for WAY over the retail prices. Just stay away from sellers like that!

See people. The **dealers** are not changing prices, meaning the stocking gun dealers. They are in this with us for the long haul, not for the quick buck.

Back in the good old day, say 12-18 months ago, Cabela’s Herter’s brand .45 ACP was manufactured by Fiocchi. It shot very well and it would by nice to be able to buy it in bulk. After the Panic Prices recede, of course.

Why is everyone bitch’n about the price? Seems that capitalism is alive and well, supply and demand sets the price. No one has any ammo, price goes up, get over it. Also, just wait till ammo comes back, price will go down.
