On the eve of SHOT Show 2018, IWI just dropped a bomb of an announcement!  It’s the company’s first ever bullpup shotgun!  The Tavor TS12.

This 12 gauge semi-automatic, gas-operated scattergun feeds from one of three rotating magazine tubes, each capable of holding four 3-inch shells or five 2-inch shells for a total capacity of 15+1.

Of course, if it feeds Aguila mini shells, that capacity bumps up to 26 rounds.  Talk about an ideal platform to have at the ready when something goes bump in the night.

“The TAVOR TS12 is our first entry into the home defense shotgun market and we held off until we had something unique and desirable that held the same characteristic quality and performance of the entire TAVOR line,” Casey Flack, CEO of IWI US commented.

“The TS12 is it; compact, easy to use and maintain, and with a large magazine capacity, it is ideal for home defense, as well as a sporting shotgun,”Flack added.

This IWI Tavor TS12 shotgun will NOT shoot mini shells. It says so in the manual AND on their (IWI.US) website.

Double barrel vs. insanely large crowd of blm antifa thugs…two rounds might get a few but if the shooing keeps going the croud is more likely to retreat, more is better in today’s BS of protests/demonstrations. Stay safe.

I’d like to encourage “my people”, that is, gun people, to be kinder to each other. I know tempers can flair up in debates, but let’s all try to stick together and show liberals and anti-gunners we’re a better class of people than the bitter, angry, and irrational types they often show themselves to be!

It\’s understood that when auto shotty is used that it means semi. Where have u been for 40 yrs?
Did u just move to the U.S.?

  • tom snook January 24, 2018, 5:14 pm

Why? Why as a gun owner and advocate for over 40 years do I find myself asking why? The younger gen will say because…..”you’re old” I have black-guns…I get technology….but this piece is a true “cluster”.

    • Big Jim November 8, 2019, 8:41 am

@ TS, You are the problem. Your a gun snob who thinks he knows whats best for everyone. That’s why there’s been a surge in interest. No different than smoothies or flavored coffees.
Tell me why would a four-wheeler need power steering? Seen a Polaris with one awhile back. …i’m waiting.

James Bond from the 1980’s called and would like his ray gun back.
I could imagine this as the perfect movie prop, but for personal use? Too many things going on here.
If ever caught in that actual SHTF situation, with all your fight or flight chemicals kicking into high gear, can you really beat a Rem 870 or Moss 500 series, packed with Federal LE Tactical 12ga 2-3/4″ 00 Buck? In my opinion, a natural extension of your body putting maximum effective payload on target.

Heavy at around 10 pounds loaded. And mini shells…i have been looking for weeks and keep coming up with same \”sold out\”.

  • Jsanch January 19, 2018, 12:51 pm

For those of you looking to feed the mini shells reliably, look into the OPSol mini-clip. It’s designed specifically for mossberg 500 and 590 but I’ve seen it modified for other shotguns. I know it won’t help in these new bullpup shotguns, but relevant on the subject of mini shells.

So the foregrip is also the rotating magazine? What could go wrong…

    • mtman2 January 23, 2018, 4:06 am

Yup – funny tho how a good ol double barrel w/ejectors can still fit the bill and blow bump in the night varmint’s clean to Kingdom Come; esp w/both barrels at onced.
      Joe Bidden not withstanding…

  • JoshO January 19, 2018, 12:01 pm

Another solution looking for a problem. That thing looks utterly ridiculous. But hey…your money.

  • Alan January 19, 2018, 8:04 am

If their shotguns will fire all 15 regular 2 3/4″ shells without ever a jam, it is what everyone needs. If it ever jams just once, it is a disaster waiting to happen and no one should have one.

  • Dr Motown January 19, 2018, 7:27 am

Compared to the Shockwave, it’s only 2″ longer OL, and 2.75# heavier, but you get 4″ more of barrel and 2.5x the capacity, plus the ability to customize….I like it

    • kyle January 19, 2018, 9:00 pm

uh… you can’t compare them. this is a shoulder fired automatic shotgun… the shockwave is a hip fired novelty item. put a buttstock on it then compare them again…
that being said, this design is stolen from the USA design and USA produced SRM 1216

      • Leighton Cavendish January 20, 2018, 10:30 am

        SEMI-auto…please be accurate…

        • Sam the bam January 29, 2018, 9:37 am

    Stupid

  • loupgarous January 19, 2018, 6:42 am

The only time you can talk about Aquila mini-shells in an article on a semi-auto shotgun is when you have a writer go to the range and try to cycle through a whole tube of them without a malfunction (or three tubes in this weapon’s case).
I’m more interested in how fast you can go from tube to tube, because so far I’m thinking it’s not going to be a smooth process you can depend on when you really need it to be smooth and fast. Can’t wait for an actual review, not just a promo.

    • kyle January 19, 2018, 9:03 pm

this design is stolen from the USA design and USA produced SRM 1216. rotating the magazine is pretty intuitive and fast. My 1216 doesn’t cycle mini-shells, but it really only needs a pretty minor change to fix that.

  • loupgarous January 19, 2018, 6:37 am

I’m with Blue Dog. I clicked on this article expecting to see something that would hold and feed 26 2,75″ shells. Instead I got this.
It doesn’t help either the site’s reputation or IWI’s to attract readers by talking about shotgun capacity in terms of how many Aquila minishells you can cram into the gun. Aquilas aren’t what I’ll use for home defense or anything else, for that matter.

    • mtman2 January 23, 2018, 4:08 am

      Saiga = 25 rd drums

  • Blue Dog January 17, 2018, 2:12 pm

It always strikes me as quirky how they always talk about the capacity on these hi-cap shotguns for Aguila mini-shells. This is probably the only place that I have seen discuss those mini-shells as anything more than just a novelty. I have a few sleeves of them and have played around with them but rarely do they feed as reliably as their longer and more-widely-available 2.75″ counterparts.
