After 111 Years, Savage Introduces 3 New 1911s -- SHOT Show 2023
Savage’s new line of 1911s comes in three finishes.

The Colt 1911 is named for the year it was made, and now 111 years later Savage has finally gotten on the bandwagon. Savage’s Model 1907 was the finalist competing with Colt for the government contract for the new military handgun. Colt won and the 1911 took its place in the history books.

Savage is now offering a finely made 1911 in three finishes: Raw stainless, two-tone with nitride slide, and all-black nitride. All three models are made of stainless steel.

How does Savage “reintroduce” a firearm they have never made? They did make a model 1911 as part of the military trials but it was significantly different than the 1911 JMB designed.

I LOVE Savage products and always have but to buy anything firearms related and new-manufactured in Mass? That’s a NON-STARTER for me.
Also…. “three new 1911s”? More like *A* 1911 in three colors.

Who sez the 1911A1 is dead? Take those plastic pistols in 9mm sissy and make them into suppository’s. Long live the 45ACP!
