AG Garland Says Quiet Part Out Loud!

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

In a recent address at the first-ever Gun Violence Survivors’ Summit at ATF headquarters, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland made remarks that have certainly turned some heads in the pro-2A community.

Braden, the host of Langley Outdoors Academy, gave an incisive rundown of the AG’s statements in a video (see above) on Tuesday.

Quiet Part Out Loud

What stood out, initially, was when Garland said the quiet part out loud. That is, he admitted that the majority of violence is attributable to repeat offenders and gangs. A fact that is well documented by research and data. But something that the anti-gunners have been loath to acknowledge.

“We are working to honor the victims and survivors of gun violence by pursuing justice on their behalf and by holding the individual perpetrators of gun violence accountable for their crimes,” said Garland.

“We are using our prosecutorial and technological tools to identify the repeat offenders and gangs who are principally responsible for community violence,” he continued (emphasis added).

Wow! This is a big admission. After all, the first step to solving societal violence is correctly identifying the causes. The next step, of course, is implementing workable solutions.

Scapegoating

Garland appears to have the first part down, but as Braden pointed out, what Biden’s DOJ has been doing over the past three years is not only not getting the job done, it’s wrongfully targeting law-abiding gun owners.

“You just said, as the Department of Justice’s head, the Attorney General of the United States of America, the same guy who has signed off on letters from the ATF changing the rules completely for pistol braces, ghost gun regulations, who is and is not a dealer, if you sell something that’s your property, and you just had the balls to say at some gun violence survivor summit that you’ve known the whole time it was the repeat offenders and the gangs that do the principal amount of violence,” exclaimed Braden.

“Hey, here’s a weird thought, lay off of us and maybe focus on the gangbangers,” he added.

What Happened to Operation Thor?

Garland also spoke about initiatives like deploying strike forces and cracking down on illegal gun trafficking. Yet, Braden correctly accused him of hypocrisy, noting the cancellation of Operation Thor, a program aimed at tracing illicit firearm movements, under Garland’s watch.

“This whole little thing of we’re getting really tough and we’re going to figure out the illicit movements and the tracking of straw purchasers is a lie,” Braden asserted. He underscored the fact that the gov’t has still not explained why it deliberately nixed the program.

Additionally, Garland’s mention of “Community gun violence” as a new focus raised eyebrows, with Braden criticizing what he sees as a rebranding of crime. He accused the administration of manipulating terminology to shape public perception of societal violence.

Conclusion

Garland’s recent comments at the summit shine a light on a glaring issue: while the nation’s top lawdog acknowledges the real culprits of gun violence, his actions continuously veer off target, hassling law-abiding gun owners instead of the repeat offenders and gangs he knows are the problem.

The country deserves straightforward solutions that tackle these true sources of violence without giving the average gun owner a hard time. Also, more honesty about why certain promising programs get axed wouldn’t hurt.

It would be great to see some real action that aligns with the talk; maybe then we’ll start seeing genuine progress. Anyway, check out Garland’s speech and drop your thoughts in the comments section:

I want to know MORE about Brian Malinowski, the airport director in Arkansas who was gunned down by the ATF during an early AM no knock raid on his home. We have heard few details since this happened.

Watch in the video where the head of the atf states loudly, slowly and clearly that “there is no gun show loophole and there never was!” Holy crap! He openly and clearly admitted it! Can we finally stop the hearing this lie? Of course not. The media and anti-gun groups will just keep spewing lies even though they know they are lies.

I have figured out what the problem is with the Liberal more and set, defective DNA
    They are totally incompetent.

Actually gangs and repeat offenders are the acolytes of the liberal destroy America agenda. Why do you think they turn them right back out on the street when caught? Always remember the destruction of America is the goal and these things will make sense

Garland is an accolade of biden, because they think alike, or should I say, don’t think alike. They both need brain help.

But Biden keeps telling me that “assault weapons” are the cause of all of the “gun violence.”
