Steiner has long been a leader in military optics and more recently has been establishing a presence in the U.S. civilian market. We had an opportunity to test several models this summer, and the clarity of glass and quality was outstanding. New for SHOT Show 2018, Steiner announced the M6Xi.

The M6Xi was submitted for the SOCOM squad variable power optic trials, so you know it is tough. That is not the kind of thing you tee off on if your afraid of getting your paint scratched. This new version will feature capped turrets, and the objective end is an inch shorter than previous M6 models.

Impressions & Pricing:

The reticle is a called the Rapid Dot and is available as a ballistic drop compensator that can be tuned to either 5.56 or 7.62 mm. This offers easy shooting to 600 meters with a very bright red dot for close range targets. The controls are super smooth, and the glass is very clear.

Civilian model available now, at an MSRP of $2,800.

    No doubt Steiner manufactures some of the finest optics in the world but holy cow they are expensive!

    I WANT to say “WHO cares”…WHERE they’re made”, crap $3K. Geez. You’d think THEY (& ALL the other mnfr’s of ‘fine’ gear, etc) thought we were all made of money out in here in the real world. Yeah I’ll take a NightForce “WHEN” I can afford an optic @ that price
