The CQ-S is an ultra-short collapsible stock for AR-15 style rifles. Collapsed, it adds only 5 inches to the rifle. It’s spring-loaded and extends instantly at the push of a button.
Despite its compact size, the CQ-S has five adjustable positions. All five positions lock up tight. The stock extends to add 9 inches to your AR. In its longest configuration, it’s a 12.5-inch length of pull.
The entire stock is made from aluminum and steel. The aluminum is hardcoat anodized for added durability.
There are two QD sling locations. One is hidden underneath the stock release button and the other is in the back of the stock seen in the photo below. You can hit either QD mount from either side.
You can fire the rifle safely while the stock is compressed and it will function the same as when it’s extended.
With the stock in it’s most extended position the shooter can still get an excellent cheek weld on the back of the stock and the buffer tube.
The back of the buttstock is compact but not uncomfortable to shoulder.
The buffer tube, buffer, and flatwire spring are all included.
The only tool needed to install the CQ-S is a 1/4″ driver, like what you’d use with a socket set. It inserts in the square hole at the end of the buffer tube. You simply tighten it down. Directions come in the box but it’s super simple.
The buffer is where some of the short magic comes from. It’s extra short but still weighs as much as a full-size buffer (Insert, “That’s what she said joke here”). I had my doubts about function but my rifle functioned perfectly (even with a suppressor) and I even took it coyote hunting in the dark without issue.
The ODIN Works CQ-S stock alone without buffer, spring, and buffer tube rounds to one pound.
The entire stock assembly, stock, buffer tube, buffer, and spring weighs 1.45 lbs or 23.2 ounces.
The best part about the ODIN Works CQ-S stock is the price. While $249.00 doesn’t sound cheap, it’s literally hundreds less than similar stocks made by competitors and it comes with the buffer tube, spring, and buffer.
