In a pivotal turn of events today, the U.S. Senate declined to overturn the Biden administration’s controversial Pistol Brace Rule under the Congressional Review Act.
The final vote, which saw senators divided along party lines, settled at a narrow 50-49.
During the heated debate, Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer faced backlash for his claims that pistol-braced firearms could be converted into machine guns.

Taking effect on June 1st, the rule has sparked controversy by making it illegal to possess unregistered, but previously lawfully owned, pistols with attached stabilizing braces.
Offenders risk facing felony charges, with penalties reaching a potential ten years in prison. There are, however, certain exceptions covered by five federal court injunctions, including the notable Texas & GOA v. ATF.
Estimates suggest that as many as 40 million braces are currently in circulation, implying a substantial potential impact on gun owners nationwide.

Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President of Gun Owners of America (GOA), expressed his frustration following the Senate’s decision.
“It’s incredibly disappointing that, despite an outpouring of grassroots opposition to the rule, the Senate concurred with President Biden and voted to make their constituents felons,” he said. “Gun Owners of America will continue to fight back in the Courts, where we have already seen some strong success. The fight will go on.”
Joining the conversation, Aidan Johnston, GOA’s Director of Federal Affairs, voiced his outrage. “It’s truly outrageous that a rule from the ATF can ban 40 million guns when the same proposal, if originating from Congress, could never pass the same test. Instead, Senators took the easy way out and chose to rubber-stamp this administration’s unconstitutional move to criminalize owning a piece of plastic.”
In a significant countermove, a federal judge has previously halted the enforcement of the rule against GOA members and Texas state employees following a lawsuit initiated by the Gun Owners of America and the State of Texas.

Every time I see, hear or read anything from Chuckie Schumer I get down on my knees and give thanks that I left that state 5 years ago. Schumer is no dummy, and this appears to be an example of discarding an obvious truth and reading a lie into the record, a cheap emotional appeal. I would say ‘shame on him,’ but the man is incapable of shame.
When politicians ignore the Constitution and use the powers bestowed upon them by the people like DICTATORS it tells you exactly why the Second Amendment is necessary to protect our rights against the tyrants that would enslave the people.
