Taurus USA has announced the return of its compact pistol, the Taurus 917C, to the American market.
The 917C, an offshoot of the popular Taurus 92, had previously garnered attention for its compact design without compromising on capacity, holding up to 18 rounds.
Its easy shooting nature coupled with a full-length accessory rail sets it apart from other compact double-action/single-action semi-automatic pistols.
One of its defining features is the ability to mount full-size weapon lights and other accessories, making it a versatile choice for users.

Moreover, it offers compatibility with all Taurus 92 style magazines.
Caleb Giddings, the General Manager of Marketing for Taurus USA, shared personal nostalgia for the 917C, noting his regret at selling an original 917C years ago.
“I actually had one of the original 917C pistols all those years ago, and I regret selling it,” said Giddings in a press release obtained by GunsAmerica.
“I’m a huge fan of traditional double-action semi-autos like the Taurus 92, so bringing back the 917C makes a ton of sense to me,” he continued. “I can’t wait to put some serious rounds downrange out of this.”
