Why does it matter? Are you planning to attack someone in a vehicle or structure with BP glass in it? That would make me think you are the problem in this scenario. If you are wanting to know what will penetrate the armored glass on the vehicle you are riding in, you should ask the manufacturer or supplier of the vehicle. If they failed to provide this, you need to look for a better supplier.

Why would you want to penetrate bullet proof glass unless you are some kind of terrorists

  • greg grover January 13, 2017, 3:55 pm

Try and shoot the bullet proof glass with a ss109 bullet in an ar pistol

The question itself is subjective in nature which means there\’s never be any real answer. This is because there is no strict definition of bullet proof glass. The usual BP glass is actually polycarbonate plastic sheet which comes in many thicknesses and grades which itself has various impact limits depending on those factors. If you want to stop up to .357 mag, there\’s a spec for that. If you want to stop .30-06 there\’s a spec for that. I could go on but I think I\’ve made the point that the term bullet proof is a very vague term and is meaningless without stated goals.

I wonder how 7.62 Tokarev or 7.63X25 Mauser would perform? Small caliber + high velocity + FMJ = high degree of penetration (the 7.63 Mauser was the high-velocity champ of pistol rounds until the .357 Magnum came out in 1935, and the Tokarev round was copied from the Mauser round, and later loaded to higher velocities)
