Texas mom with children mistaken for gun-toting thugs

Authors S.H. Blannelberry

With their firearms drawn, police in Forney, Texas, pulled over a mother and her four young children earlier this month mistaking them for gun-toting thugs, local media reports.

Footage from the harrowing incident was recently released raising questions about whether the police acted appropriately after it was discovered that the description of the car recorded during the 911 complaint, “a beige or tan-colored Toyota with four black males,” did not mach that of Kametra Barbour’s burgundy red Nissan Maxima loaded with four children all under the age of 10.

Following the incident, a distraught Barbour had a message for law enforcement.

“I need you to make sure you have all the facts, because you can’t just say, ‘Okay, I’m sorry,’ and then I’m over it. I can’t. Every time I listen to and hear or think about it, it bothers you. I can’t just say, ‘I’m fine. It’s okay. It’s not a big deal.’ It is,” Barbour said, recalling the stress of the situation that still lingers.

The source has a broken link: “With their firearms drawn, police in Forney, Texas, pulled over a mother and her four young children earlier this month mistaking them for gun-toting thugs, local media reports.”

The right one would be this one.

Boy,ya really gotta love the awareness and intelligence of the police, not just in Texas, but overall. These morons need to find a less critical line of work, like shopping cart attendant.

It’s become standard procedure for police to put their safety ahead of the facts and the safety of the public.
Too much focus on SWAT tactics and not enough on Serve & Protect.
