We are living in the Golden Age of firearms, and don’t let anyone tell you different. Never has there been a time when so many good guns could be had at all, for any price. And for prices, compared to other necessities in life, good guns are very reasonable.

Perhaps the nicest luxury, if you are an avid shooter, are specialty guns like this Trojan Firearms pistol caliber carbine, called the PRO9V1, and that model is available in a -G for Glock mags, and a -M for STI mags, otherwise called 2011 mags, built for the double stack 1911 frame.

This gun was created specifically for the newest “all the rage” on the USPSA competition circuit, and as pistol caliber carbines go, you don’t have a ton of options. Above that, you don’t have any real prior options that were specifically built to never fail in a competition setting.

Like many small gun companies, Trojan Firearms appears to be a group of enthusiasts who decided to make their dreams a reality. See a need, fill a need. And as I explained in the video, when you invest so much into your shooting craft, including time off of work, hotels and transportation to go compete, the $1500ish pricetag is not bad at all. This gun is not yet on the website linked above, but you can also use their dealer locator, or call Trojan Firearms at 201.208.2725.

Maybe I’m missing something but where is the stock on this “carbine”? I’m working on a build to compete in USPSA’s PCC division and I wouldn’t think of building / buying a “pistol” for a carbine sport. I’ve competed in USPSA revolver, limited, open and production divisions since the 80’s and I just don’t get this build. I DO like the ejector and feed ramp setup and the fact it takes STI mags.

Watching the guy continually jab the mic in the guys face is too much. So damned distracting. Give the guy some freaking space, Dude!!

And we’re still waiting for a decent carbine that will take XD 9 mags.

Agreed! Give the glock stuff a rest.

I bought my PCC from PSA for around $600.00+/- . I took it out of the box and shot a bit of lube into the action and started shooting it. In the last year I shot it in a 3 gun match and two USPSA matches, not to mention the simple playing with it and letting others play it’s gone around a 1000 to 1500 rounds with not a hiccup, not one. I’m sold on it and by the way it’s awesome accurate. Clay birds at 100 yards with a red dot are too easy.
