Female Bail Agent Fatally Shoots Client in Front of Her Son: ‘Mom You Just Shot Him’!

An Oklahoma woman was acquitted of first-degree murder Friday in the fatal shooting of her client.

Bail agent Chasity Dawn Carey shot and killed 38-year-old Brandon James Williams while attempting to take him into custody last August.  The incident was caught on camera.  See video below.  Viewer discretion is advised.

Carey, 42, claimed she did so in self-defense. “I was afraid he was going to shoot my son,” Carey told the Payne County jury, according to The Oklahoman. “I felt like we were going to be killed. … I’ve never been that scared before.”

“Mom, you just shot him,” says her 19-year-old son right after the shot was fired according to the video.  “I did,” she says.

Carey initially told the police that there was a struggle for the gun she used in the shooting.  Upon viewing the video, investigators arrested her because it doesn’t appear as if there was a fight for the firearm.

However, in court, Carey’s defense attorney said that the tape doesn’t tell the whole story.

“What’s not on the video is your reasonable doubt,” said attorney Jarrod Stevenson.

“The video only showed half of the shooting,” Stevenson told reporters after the verdict. “It didn’t show what Mr. Williams was doing and I think that’s what the jury really focused on.”

Prosecutors tried to focus on the fact that Carey shot Williams, an accused burglar, in the back.

“It’s never OK to shoot someone in the back. … Where’s the danger? Where was it?” First said Assistant District Attorney Kevin Etherington during the trial.

Wow that ladie should be convicted of manslaughter if I can’t shoot a person breaking into my house in the back..
what makes you think that you have any authority over anybody and then to shoot them as they are fleeing BECUZ your crazy, an in the back..why couldn’t you treat him like a decent human being he was to be having a pretty decent conversation with you guys and in flat sec she goes there all the shades of grey smh y’all need a real job what a bunch of b.s.

    • Carlos J Andrews March 24, 2018, 3:39 pm

I could see no reason why she shot this man. She should have had a police officer there to make the arrest. She should be charged with murder. I forgot she was part of the pack that defender that defends her. No one is above the law but is this case is appears she was. Why did the boy cover the screen, I suspect to cover up any evidence. This should be turned over to the FBI.

  • G.O.A. Patriot March 19, 2018, 3:13 pm

At the very least, she should be convicted of manslaughter! Shot in the back? C’mon!

  • Bruce V. March 19, 2018, 7:59 am

This is a classic case for a taser..If she gets this rattled in situations like this, then perhaps she needs a different job..The client was obviously uncooperative, but a taser would have controlled him enough to handcuff him..How any jury could find this self defense is definitely a statement about how bad the judicial is..WOW..

  • RB March 18, 2018, 8:30 pm

Cold blooded murder on tape. “Get back here do as I say or die”

  • Mort Leith March 18, 2018, 10:57 am

From this video,,, I didn’t see where either her or her son’s life was in danger…

  • Scott Goodman March 17, 2018, 11:27 pm

Not to be judgmental or anything, but who goes to a business meeting dressed in a wifebeater and then picks his feet in public? Sorry he dies but gee whiz. Follow some basic societal rules. This includes do not steal and skip out on bail.

  • Gentry L Tipton March 17, 2018, 8:24 pm

He turned into an idiot and got shot. The end.

  • Hondo March 17, 2018, 2:38 pm

Is it me or am I the only who thinks ” Jake ” seems mentally unstable and should be put on the FBI’s watch/investigate list.

Or is he just a little idiot that needs to take his medication.

  • Nick M March 17, 2018, 8:56 am

This video makes no sense. She is not authority. That fat bitch belongs at Weight Watchers, then learn to honor God by serving her husband. She is not “authorized”. Authority flows down hill from God to government to act in his name. It does not flow to her, and she did not act in his name.

    • Steph May 16, 2018, 5:20 pm

WOW I was ok with the FAT BITCH (Didn’t agree with it) comment until you when HIGH and MIGHTY on us. You Ma’am are a hypocrite. NOW GFYS and STFU.

  • phil long March 17, 2018, 2:48 am

this is the second time i seen a female leo murder someone that was not threatening them.

    • Jake March 17, 2018, 2:50 pm

its Not a sex thing. It’s a power trip thing by LEOs, when you know you have “immunity” to kill an American citizen you are more likely to do so. Training killers with tax dollars and setting them loose on Americans… man or ma’am or something in between it’s the badge and the “power” that are the issue. Lack of accountability also.

    • Keith Barrett March 18, 2018, 7:26 am

Bail Agents are not LEO’s. They’re not even licensed Security Guards. Most have criminal convictions themselves. Like Dog The Bounty Hunter.

  • Dude March 17, 2018, 12:19 am

There was no way that guy was a threat! He could have cleaned her clock at the door and walked out. He was looking for a non-confrontational way out or he would have gone through her, not walked around her multiple times then exiting through the window. Even when she grappled at him he said to take her hands off him rather than belting or otherwise manhandling her. The jury were beguiled or stupid. Though you can’t see him in the frame, how could any one be a threat with their back to you trying to crawl out the window. Terrible miscarriage of justice. She should have gone to jail. Her son will have problems about this incident for a long time. Maybe a lifetime.

  • Jerome March 16, 2018, 8:14 pm

Say what you will but look at her face when she pulls the trigger and you will know she murdered him intentionally in cold blood because she was annoyed with him. This will come back to haunt her and she will become mentally ill.

    • Stormie March 16, 2018, 9:56 pm

Woman did not look scared but she sure looks scary. I would hate to be her son if I brought the car home late. The son needs to be scared having her for a mother. The man she killed does not have to be scared anymore because he is dead.

  • cisco kid March 16, 2018, 7:27 pm

This incident shows that many 3rd World countries are actually more civilized than many hick backwoods states where money is their only God. I think now at this late stage of the game the only hope for justice would be a multi-million dollar Civil lawsuit to bankrupt this Murderous Women and also revoking her license immediately before she kills again. If even O.J. Simpson can lose a civil law suit (which he did) then this murderous woman can lose in court too and should. I have seen personally other bail bondsmen harass , humiliate and blatantly threaten people because they claimed they could do anything they wanted to regardless of legal law. This woman did and got away with it because obviously the courts were thoroughly corrupt and preyed upon the ignorance of a back woods, ignorant and totally cold blooded jury.

    • billy March 17, 2018, 10:39 am

your first sentence is completely insane. go hang out in venezuela for a bit and report back.

  • Richard Escareno March 16, 2018, 5:55 pm

In my opinion, that was a bad shoot. The client was not armed. Cold blooded murder.

  • alex March 16, 2018, 4:14 pm

this lady shot that guy in cold blood. at no time was he a threat to her or his son,she had money on her mind, plain and simple.she should be locked up in a cell,if a citizen had done the same thing they would be arrested for murder, she back shot an unarmed man in the act of fleeing.

  • James Lee March 16, 2018, 4:05 pm

Tim Tucker! You may call yourself Tim, but I think you are a woman!
To wit, aside from a general tone of whiny demeaning, short on facts drivel,
To Mike Hunt: “How did you get out of your mother’s womb?” Plus abortion references.
To Daniel: You are a Neanderthal.
To Anon: “You should be neutered.”
To Trevor: “Keep the pacifier in your mouth.”
To Chrissie: “On behalf of the failed birth control that resulted in YOU….” Plus more neutering references and accusations of being emotional.
    To Jaque: also emotional.
I don’t know any men who talk like this.!
    To Jacque: “

  • Enrique March 16, 2018, 3:54 pm

The district attorney set this one up so she would not be convicted. They know there will be no conviction on a murder 1. If this man has a family with any men in it at all , then it’s not too late for justice…..

  • Mike Moran March 16, 2018, 3:47 pm

THIS BITCH NEEDS TO RIDE THE LIGHTNING!!!!!

  • James Lee March 16, 2018, 3:46 pm

Did I hear incorrectly? The son says, “Mom, you just shot him!” She replies, “I did.” Then after a pause, it sounds to me like she says, under her breath, “He called me a bitch.”

    • Samael March 16, 2018, 6:40 pm

You sure did that fucking nutty bitch shot an unarmed man and from the video looks like he was just BS with the kid. I would have called her worse. Fucking psycho comes to mind 🙂

      That is seriously fucked up.

    • Wzrd March 23, 2018, 11:41 pm

I’m not trying to defend her, but I think she’s telling her son to “call PD”. I could be wrong, but that’s what it sounded like to me.

  • Jake March 16, 2018, 1:43 pm

How in holy hell did she get away with that!!!
We need serious, VERY SERIOUS reform of how law enforcement is held accountable.
That is sickening to watch. Every and any generic citizens would have been found guilty and caged for life.
Law enforcement should be held to a much higher standards then citizens (like a traffic ticket means jail time for a officer). There can be no trust if there is no accountability for law enforcement.
The government simply executed that man and that totally cool…. dude wake up. Law enforcement agents are the worst that society has to offer to the most twisted part of the government. #bluelivesMURDER

    • DDurden March 16, 2018, 3:10 pm

You’d have great points there . . . if she was law enforcement . . . or a cop . . . but “bail enforcement” is the term used for private individuals the bail bonds companies use to stop bail jumpers i.e. bounty hunters. If that’s the case, she’s basically “Dog”, if you know what I mean, and she’s not law enforcement at all.

      • Jake March 17, 2018, 2:46 am

She enforces the law… as a job… so yep, she is law enforcement and so is “dog”.
        State license needed I’m sure.
She may not be a full fledged member of the gang but she is paid to enforce rule of law over American citizens.
The only reason she was not convicted is due to the “immunity” held by law enforcement….

    • Mike Moran March 16, 2018, 3:41 pm

How about YOU go CRAWL BACK UP YOUR MOTHER’SASS YOU LOWLIFEPILE OF DOGSHITSCUMBAGSCUMBAG!!!

      • Mike Moran March 17, 2018, 10:10 am

Sorry, I NEED to clarify something—-I WAS talking to you—–JAKE

    • Pedro Allian Gervacious March 16, 2018, 3:49 pm

      Except she isn’t law enforcement.

      • Jake March 17, 2018, 2:49 am

Does she enforce law….and arrest American citizens?
        Yep and yup so…..

        • Mike March 19, 2018, 2:28 pm

Boy that Jake and lots of others on here are real dumbasses. Typical idiots that don’t know shit what their talking about but just run their mouth. That being said this crazy bitch should fry. SHe flat out murdered this guy. she was not threatened, she was pissed at him and the jury if they let her go ( I don’t see in the article) should have their ass kicked also because a 3 year old could see she is guilty. She IS NOT law enforcement…She DOES NOT enforce the law. SHe is ONLY charged with getting her bail money back by collecting it from him or turning his ass in on time so she doesn’t have to forfeit the cash bail. THATS ALL.

    • KEITH March 16, 2018, 5:14 pm

Bail agents are not law enforcement. Private citizens licensed by the state to post bond.

  • kk March 16, 2018, 1:42 pm

I hate this ugly, murdering, lowdown cunt …..bondsmen in general think they are living in the 1800’s..cocky sons of bitches and police hate them…..(they can get away with a lot of shit that cops cant)

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 1:58 pm

ALL law enforcement are the same type of swamp scum… EVERY SINGLE ONE.

      • larry abrams March 16, 2018, 3:11 pm

Way, Way, over reaction of the bond lady, No way in hell was that justified, But you also are way over the line on your remark about all law enforcement being scum

        • Jake March 17, 2018, 2:52 am

Why did they wait out side of a school while a 130lb kid killed 17 children?
It’s cuz they are scum that care only for the safety of law enforcement but nothing for American citizens…. they had guns drawn in case the danger came towards them though didn’t they?
I think I’m spot on buddy.

  • Dave Brown March 16, 2018, 1:37 pm

This so called lady should be in Prison. The guy may have been a jerk and worse, but this is simply Murder. If a cop would have done this they would or at least should be in Prison. The tape shows what happened and her son knew on the tape that this was Wrong.

  • Bounty Hunter March 16, 2018, 1:05 pm

Maybe she should be a border control agent

    • Pedro Allian Gervacious March 16, 2018, 3:52 pm

That’s not funny, my uncle, his wife, their 4 kids, and 6 grandkids cross tomorrow. They don’t deserve to be shot like this gringo obviously did.

      • Andrew N March 16, 2018, 5:50 pm

Years ago (Late 1960’s) my father told me a guy’s plan for border enforcement that would work. Put a person on a .50 Cal ( Ma Deuce ) machine gun every 500 yards and blast anyone crossing. The only problem? Finding someone to man those weapons. Fast forward to 2018. I don’t think it would be hard to find people willing to shoot people on sight anymore. In fact, there would probably be a waiting list, as well as a videogame “simulating the action”. What kind of society do we now live in? For those of you crying “Liberal!”, no. Not hardly. I have nothing against LEGAL immigration and doing it the right way. I do take issues with illegal immigration, as well as the term “undocumented”. They are here illegally, and should be sent back. Immediately. DACA? Sorry, blame the people responsible. Your parents. We had the “Amnesty Program” in 1986, and I remember the promise of “One-time ONLY. After this, no more”. Yeah, right. I think we should stick to that. This applies to immigrants from ALL nations. If you didn’t come here legally, goodbye.

      • Mike March 19, 2018, 2:33 pm

Well Paco uh er…Pedro, tell them to get their asses back across the line and do it legally. I for one will welcome them at that point, as long as they take ZERO welfare or social support including OBAMA care, OBAMA phone, subsidized housing , food stamps, and pay taxes and DONT take the so called “earned income credit”

  • Chris March 16, 2018, 1:02 pm

Who prosecuted this case! This woman had all sorts of options. I can’t believe how many murders I see on video. Many by untrained law enforcement. I guess that what civil court is for.

  • Brian H March 16, 2018, 12:39 pm

About a million ways this could have been done without shooting. Last time I checked, shooting an unarmed person in the act of running away was murder. Even if he was a criminal. I’m a gun rights advocate and situations like this create more problems for all of us.

  • James Shumate March 16, 2018, 12:11 pm

DAMN! She murdered that guy! THEN LIED ABOUT IT! Wow….

  • Michael March 16, 2018, 11:40 am

Looks like no self defense to me, he was not going after her or her son. Looks like first degree murder to me.

  • Pineapple pen March 16, 2018, 11:37 am

OK new rule: if you wear a Budweiser T-shirt to work, you should not be allowed to have a loaded pistol in your desk.

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 1:46 pm

      …or be l law enforcement officers……. Jesus.

      • Pedro Allian Gervacious March 16, 2018, 3:53 pm

You tell ‘em Jake from State Farm!

  • Paul March 16, 2018, 11:15 am

Wow!!! Bad shooting!!! He was running away and no evidence of him trying to harm anyone. She said she was in third floor? She murdered him. Wow!!!!

    • Lee March 16, 2018, 12:15 pm

Yea Tennessee vs Garner was the end of “shooting the fleeing felon”. Yup, have a feeling she’s going to face some jail time over this one. My money says she’ll probably plea for a manslaughter charge…

      • OKHunter March 16, 2018, 12:47 pm

Nope, she was acquitted. And because she was acquitted as a result of a self defense plea, the criminal’s family cannot sue her in civil court either because of our Self-Defense Act laws.

        • Jake March 16, 2018, 1:49 pm

Cuz god knows we need to protect the rights of law enforcement…. it’s dangerous killing citizens and abusing the constitution.

          • OKHunter March 16, 2018, 2:39 pm

Bail bondsmen are not law enforcement in Oklahoma. They are not certified by CLEET and have no law enforcement powers other than being able to arrest a bonded client for remittance to the local law enforcement. Anyone can become a bail bondsman who can pass the testing, pay the fees, and isn’t a prohibited person.

          • Pedro Allian Gervacious March 16, 2018, 3:56 pm

Really Jake, I’m an undocumented US citizen and even I have less hate for cops. Maybe you should ease back on all the gangsta thug business and get back to selling insurance.

          • Oaf March 16, 2018, 7:49 pm

Jake, I don’t know if you lack reading comprehension skills or are just stupid in general, but she WAS NOT A COP!! Several others here have tried to explain that to you, but you just can’t seem to grasp the fact that SHE AINT NO COP! She is not law enforcement put a private bail bondsman.

          • Mike March 19, 2018, 2:41 pm

Jakes a true illiterate dumb ass. I would wager he also has a record. HA Typical whiner. Always someone elses fault your a low life.

That being said, that lady should have fried. Flat out murder.

  • Outdoors Guy March 16, 2018, 11:08 am

There were several items that I noticed that weren’t even mentioned or discussed by anyone here who has “contributed” their “expertise” as a legal expert. I will mention these items as they occurred in the video with no judgement one way or another, simply stating fact.
    1. While talking to the woman’s son, the alleged “bad guy” removes his shoe, peels his left sock half off of his foot and begins absently picking at something on his left heel and scratching around his left toes?? Is this a nervous reaction or did he need the help of a podiatrist? Who would knowingly walk into a bonding office and proceed to remove articles of dress and pick at irritations on his foot? Very strange actions ….
    2. Directly after the alleged “bad guy” mutters “oh sh*t” , after the bonds person closed and locked the entry door, her son stands up and reaches in his right back jeans pocket for a set of handcuffs. Was this preplanned that he would be the one to cuff the guy if she deemed that she should “talk to him with cuffs on”?? (I never heard any mention of her “arresting” the guy or wanting to “arrest” him) Was he working for his mother that day and getting paid for assistance in questioning an alleged “bad guy”?
    3. The 1st time he says “Don’t touch me!”, you couldn’t see the bonds person’s full body to tell if she had laid a hand physically on his person. But the 2nd time he repeated the warning, you could see that she did not touch him at all. What do you make of that particular outburst??
    4. As the alleged “bad guy” moves away from the woman and around her desk (and off camera), he appears to throw a sheet of newsprint or some paper covering back toward her. I did not hear the sound of a window opening off camera but later on, as she was talking to the 911 operator, she distinctly tells her son “Don’t close that window!” and he replies with some incoherent reply. Was the “bad guy” attempting to gain exit through a window?? Was there a fire escape at that specific window which could be accessed for a means of escape??
    5. Finally, the bonds woman draws her semi-automatic weapon from the drawer and appears to flick the safety into the “fire” position and takes her shot. Then she does something very strange, even for someone who isn’t fully familiar with the operation of a semi-automatic handgun such as she owned ….. she racks a round into the chamber! Anyone who has the slightest basic knowledge of the operation of a semi-automatic handgun can tell you that, the only time you need to rack a round into the chamber is if you know beforehand that the chamber is empty as is the case with many who do not normally carry or store their handguns with “one in the pipe”. But, in this case, there HAD to be a round already in the chamber because she did NOT initially rack one into the chamber, she simply took the gun off safety and fired a round at the alleged “bad guy”.

These were things I saw in that video which caused some questions to form in my mind about the occurrance of events and what was seen and what was NOT seen in the security video …….

    • Z March 16, 2018, 11:38 am

What the hell are you going on about? How is any of that relevant to the fact that she shot him in the back while he was apparently attempting to escape through the office window?

    • joe March 16, 2018, 11:47 am

seems you do a lot of writing and very little reading

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 1:53 pm

Your dumb. Probably a cop. If your fat enough you’d fit it with these monsters.

      • Oaf March 16, 2018, 7:54 pm

Hey Jake, with your bad reading comprehension skills, poor grammar, and just plain ignorance I’d be careful on who you’re calling dumb!

        • Jake March 17, 2018, 2:55 am

          Oaf… enough said

  • Dale McGriff March 16, 2018, 10:56 am

This was murder! Plain and simple she was in the wrong and need a to see time. I watched it over and over. He was not reaching for the gun at all. Her poor son seen it all and will live with it forever. He even couldn’t believe she shot him. Crazy bitch needs to be jailed.

    • Tommie Lee Amos March 16, 2018, 11:25 am

I agree with Dale Mcgriff, the jury handed down the wrong verdict.

      • Michael Smith March 16, 2018, 3:26 pm

I can’t believe what I just saw. she is a psychopath, no emotion nor remorse.Cold blooded murder. I just can’t wrap my mind around that! I can’t believe she got off scott free!

        • Michael Leroy Harper March 18, 2018, 10:31 pm

Anyone who has dealings with this women should fear for their life, just like she stated that she did and act in self defense. Then use her own case as precedence for their defense.

  • nomikes March 16, 2018, 10:56 am

Why do we only get to see the evidence that makes it apparently obvious that she did not use reasonable force given the circumstance?

    • Z March 16, 2018, 11:39 am

Given that there was only one camera running, what other evidence would you “see”?

    • OKHunter March 16, 2018, 1:33 pm

Oklahoma doesn’t have any “reasonable” force clause in our Self Defense Act. It does say that if you feel your life is in danger (like she claimed) that you may “defensive force that is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm to another..”

      • Jake March 16, 2018, 1:55 pm

If this is that I guess I cas just walk up to who ever and blow there brains out and say they scared me…?

        • OKHunter March 16, 2018, 4:10 pm

There’s a bit more to the statute than that, like part of the statute mentions violence, or threats of violence, usually towards the shooter or another person, in which the defendant is in a location that they’d normally have a legal right to be in – home, car, place of work, etc.
You can’t just walk up to a scary looking person and ventilate them – the statute won’t protect you from that.

          • Stormie March 16, 2018, 9:34 pm

I guess anytime someone sees this crazy idiot coming at them they should shoot her because obviously you should be scared of her

          • Stormie March 16, 2018, 9:55 pm

Woman did not look scared but she sure looks scary. I would hate to be her son if I brought the car home late. The son needs to be scared having her for a mother. The man she killed does not have to be scared anymore because he is dead.

  • Recusant March 16, 2018, 10:31 am

Really? That Chasity Dawn Carey walked makes it obvious that Payne County District Attorney Laura Thomas probably couldn’t convict Hitler if they had him locked up in the basement of the Payne County jail!

    • Tommie Lee Amos March 16, 2018, 11:27 am

      I agree with you.

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 1:56 pm

      Yep

  • Grady Philpott March 16, 2018, 10:25 am

If she were justified to fire based on fear for the lives of her and her son’s, why did she have to fabricate, not one, but two lies to justify use of lethal force?

First degree murder seems the appropriate charge to me, or maybe second degree murder to increase the likelihood of a conviction.

    • OKHunter March 16, 2018, 1:36 pm

1st degree requires malice of forethought – which is much more difficult standard to prove. If the DA had done 2nd degree murder or manslaughter charges, likely she’d be in jail.

  • Jose Pena March 16, 2018, 10:23 am

That is one ugly, murderous, bitch.

  • Brian March 16, 2018, 10:22 am

    Wow I can’t believe.she.got away.with that

  • SCRUFFY March 16, 2018, 10:12 am

I think she felt threatened by his athletes foot fungus.

    • Salty Dog March 16, 2018, 12:11 pm

I don’t blame you for thinking that.

  • Edward M Pate March 16, 2018, 9:45 am

Well she could have handled that whole thing better. If she had planned on taking into custody and putting him into cuffs she should have had more backup than her kid there. Remember never bring a boy to do a man’s work, or in this case a woman and boy.

  • Ricky Price March 16, 2018, 9:45 am

Like to set on her jury.

  • KEN March 16, 2018, 8:56 am

I’ll make a guess that this woman might be divorced and believes she’s above the law. For those that say “good riddance to all criminals” must have never had a traffic ticket { speeding, failing to stop, running a light, fail to use turn signal and etc.} witch is a crime. For those who do this needs too be rid of. The way she backed up and then shot him in the back, if that is where she shot him there was no reason too shoot him. All I can say is unless he turned real fast from facing her to having his back toward her, it seems as if she shot him intentionally. I think that she goes to work every day and thinks too herself “This might be the day I get too shoot someone”. This seems too be the demeanor of this woman. If it would have been a woman instead of a man she would not have shot or maybe she would have. Just imagine if it would have been a minor. This woman has no conscious. His back must have real threatening more so than his front.

  • Bob March 16, 2018, 8:50 am

Based on what I saw in the Video, the Lady Murdered him by Shooting him in the Back… The shows that the man was NOT armed, whether a Knife or Gun, and he was walking away from her so he would not be cuffed. So being embarrassed in front of her Son, she grabs her gun from the desk and shoots him. Her son goes into some form of shock and can’t believe his mom shot the guy! This murder(imho) should never had happened as the man shot was a petty thief and was not aggressive at all even when she announced he was to be handcuffed and simply walked way asking why? The loss of Life here should not have happened and this is just another example WHY WOMEN can NOT do a Man’s JOB! I wonder if the DA can still go after her for Manslaughter or even Negligent Manslaughter? I feel bad for all involved but especially so for the mans family.

    • OKHunter March 16, 2018, 2:02 pm

Nope – she will likely not be retried for this using new charges, double jeopardy of the 5th amendment applies, since collateral estoppel would be brought up to the Court by any competent attorney for her.

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:03 pm

      Embarrassed…. you’ve got somthing there…

  • Christopher Sourp March 16, 2018, 8:42 am

That was a bad shoot. No reason to fire on the guy, he was on his way out the window. She shot him in the back. Bad shoot, she should be charged in my opinion. The video is great, he just wanted out and I never saw her threatened. Would you like to shoot him ??? Maybe. But you cannot. That folks is a classic don’t shoot scenario. And this is just my personal opinion. I would not have pulled the trigger. Drawn my weapon, hell yes. shot him, hell no. Bad shoot.

    • Shaun March 16, 2018, 10:21 am

How can you say hell yeah to drawing your weapon and hell no to shooting? The reason for drawing a weapon is to use it. If you don’t have any intent on using it they why draw it or even have one in the first place? Drawing a weapon on a person with no intent of using it is pretty much the equivalent to jerking off with no intent of finishing.

  • Tim S. March 16, 2018, 8:35 am

Just watched the video. Ummm…that wasn’t justified.

  • Adam March 16, 2018, 8:12 am

What was he doing with his left foot? Was there something (weapon of any kind) in there or was he just fidgety? His behavior did seem really “off” to me. Like other viewers, I don’t get the full story from this video either but I definitely got the feeling he was up to no good. Now, justified use of deadly force? I didn’t see that either. This is pretty disturbing and not the best example of a gun used in self defense. Granted this was a big dude, and she’s a little woman, sitting in my armchair playing Monday morning QB, I’m not quite sold on this as a justifiable shooting. But, without being there, I can’t say. I do agree with the comments about the boy’s reaction. He was more freaked out at the fact his mom just shot the man, vs thankful that he was dead and the threat had be neutralized. I also agree that this will get dissected in civil court and likely will have a different ruling.

    • Christopher Sourp March 16, 2018, 8:42 am

I think he was fidgeting with an ankle monitor.

  • Robert A Hafetz March 16, 2018, 8:08 am

So where was the imminent threat he was retreating when he went off camera?

  • Morris McMillian March 16, 2018, 7:33 am

Good riddance! Job well done. No more expense of upkeep or danger to the public from another criminal. More criminals need to be handelled in this manor, the jails wouldn’t be so over crowded. It needs to start with these Antifas being mowed down in the streets and dumped in landfills. Criminals need to be treated as criminals.

    • Johnny Raygun March 16, 2018, 9:43 am

So in your opinion shooting someone in the back is good. Not where I come from. He was a burglar, not a murderer. There was no immediate threat. Who told the son to turn off the camera? The woman was trigger happy or not properly trained. Why if the woman was going to arrest a “Dangerous man” would she have her son there and not a fellow officer? Why did she rack the gun after firing the weapon? I would not do that, what for? No one should die without good cause

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:07 pm

  • Rusty Shackleford March 16, 2018, 7:26 am

    • waz March 16, 2018, 8:22 am

She racked that round with her finger in the trigger in anger. Murdered that man.

      • Christopher Sourp March 16, 2018, 8:44 am

        I agree. See my comment.

      • BR549 March 16, 2018, 9:35 am

From what I observed, her trigger finger was not even visible before the shot. It looks like she kept the pistol in a racked position while it was in her desk drawer. What she was attempting to do by racking it afterwords would have only dumped a live cartridge on the floor, unless she might have encountered a stovepipe. Just guessing.

  • Pastor B Stevens March 16, 2018, 7:14 am

Oklahoma …. right next to my state …. I never travel there it’s a state in crisis if you look at their current finical failure . What this woman did was 100% flat out murder shooting anyone in the back . He was no threat at all he was leaving the area . She’s obviously a danger to public most likely enjoyed murdering a un armed man . She needs her license revoked forever as to why no prosecution … that’s one reason to avoid Oklahoma at all cost . Recently their govnor signed a bill allowing police to take all your cash and empty your credit card at any traffic stop with a credit card reader based on no evidence all they need do is state they think they might have illegal wealth . They did this to fund the police and state police during huge state deficits its refered to as armed highways robbery . Yes it’s frederally illegal yet no one does a thing . Stay out of Oklahoma !

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:13 pm

Pretty sure all law enforcement is trained to shoot people in the back…. its safer for the officer that way…
Look at the “bravery” of the Florida sheriffs department when a 130lbs kid is shooting up a school….. law enforcement is not concerned with the safety of citizens…. but they are VERY concerned with the safety of law enforcement officers…. we are all being fukced by these government thugs….

    • Wiz March 16, 2018, 2:17 pm

Well this is a sure case of murder and preacher, you should use spell check or learn how to spell. I thought I was bad but you take it, better stick to preaching than typing.

      • Ben March 16, 2018, 8:32 am

Where was the struggle you idiot? Arguing and trying to leave the premesis is not struggling. This is the exact reason why I don’t trust women in LE. The minute they get scared they start pulling triggers

      • Phill March 16, 2018, 1:16 pm

Tim Tucker you are 100% correct he was a CRIMINAL. He was acting strange for someone who has jumped bail – He knew going into the office why he was there. He knew what was happening & He knew she was acting as an officer of the court. These criminal minded people love playing the stupid card. She was in her authority to detain him. There are so many unknowns for me to make a call. Was he a known drug user? What was happening off camera? What is not talked about is his record/history. What is not talked about is her record of service to the court. All That said I would not have shot him, But! I’m 5’11” 350 Lbs. he would have never made it behind the desk…… Just Sayin!

      • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:30 pm

law enforcement = government.. government killing citizens (scared and unarmed in this case) = bad …. cops are bad people not hero’s just look at how the Florida school shooting was handeled…. law enforcement cares only for the safety of law enforcement. To the point that a 130lbs kid was allowed to kill 17 children and wound many others all while the “brave” law enforcement officers stood outside with guns drawn in case the danger came toward them. Not only did the sheriff act like the cowards we all know them to be but they lied about the actions and had the nerve to blame guns and The NRA…So let’s cut the crap about law enforcement being anything other then a gang of swamp scum. COPS ARE BAD MKAY

What is the difference. Both are charged with enforcing laws over American citizens. Both arrest American citizens and both are cover in case they kill an American citizen with a “immunity” from any accountability. SHE IS LAW ENFORCEMENT. maybe a less respectable piece of law enforcement but Still law enforcement. If she was anything except law enforcement she would be in prison for murder.
        Oaf…

  • Daniel March 16, 2018, 6:40 am

Woman don’t understand that a lot of men have ego problems especially when it comes to woman arresting a man. Woman should not be in that line of business, a lot of men are not going to look at her in a position of authority which may cause the female to use excessive force, in this case deadly force which is in no way justifiable. She should be in jail.

    • Tim Tucker March 16, 2018, 7:59 am

What the…\”Woman don’t understand that a lot of men have ego problems\”…are you a Neanderthal, or living in the 1800\’s?

  • Me March 16, 2018, 6:08 am

That was cold blooded murder. Period.

    • Tim Tucker March 16, 2018, 8:01 am

We saw ONE -HALF of the tape. Therefore, you you made a statement that qualifies you as a true HALF-WIT.

      • Roy March 16, 2018, 9:08 am

I agree we saw only what she did, we did not see him on the tape at the time of the shooting, but can you honestly say that if you are on a jury and she is accused of murder and this is the only evidence presented that you would NOT find her guilty? We don’t have all the facts, but this is what I saw: (1) a woman walk to a desk while chasing a man; (2) she calmly took possession of her gun; (3) she took a shooter’s stance and pointed the gun and with no warning and no provocation that I could see – she pulled the trigger; (4) I then saw the only witness in the room other than the defendant make an excited utterance that indicates to me the shooting was unjustified. I could care less what he was doing to his foot, I don’t care what he was charged with (she is a bondsman according to the information we are given here – that means he was accused of a crime, released on bond, and she or her company held half of the bond contract. FYI – if she surrenders him she gets her money back). I saw a tape where a woman shot a man in cold blood because he would not obey her or make her getting her money back easy. If this is the ONLY evidence, I would give her the death penalty.

      • BR549 March 16, 2018, 9:50 am

So there, Dr. Freud, perhaps you could give us your professional assessment of the situation and ‘splain’ it to us ignorant common folk just how the guy’s demeanor in any way justified her actions. I mean, really, they are on the third floor for Christ’s sake; you think he was going to play Superman? He could have still gone out the door if he had wanted to get physical with her but it looks like he was trying to keep his distance.

Does a LEO have the right to shoot a perp in the back when the perp does not present a danger to the officer. In their contorted sense of reality, that may be OK in the warped little community of Badge Bunnies and Holster Sniffers, but the rest of the population starts asking some serious questions around then.

You need to lighten up a bit on the caffeine, there, Dude.

        • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:38 pm

Yes sir! Thank you. Cops are government and we need accountability in OUR government! Keep saying it as loud as you can. Cops are not hero’s…. law enforcement = gangsters.

  • Anon March 16, 2018, 5:58 am

    Karma.
Hope she watches someone she cares about get murdered in cold blood one day soon.

      • Julio Gautreaux March 16, 2018, 8:30 am

LOL…u funny man…..I love your comments

  • Okie March 16, 2018, 5:56 am

The jury was forced to make a decision between murder or nothing, and that responsibility lays on the state of Oklahoma. To convict Carey of murder would have required proving she had a “deliberate intent” to kill Williams. Payne County District Attorney Laura Thomas made a decision to file Murder 1st degree in this case based upon the evidence presented to her…in this case the judge instructed on only the same charge the State filed in the beginning. The judge could have given the jury the option of convicting Carey on a manslaughter charge instead. In fact, the jurors indicated in post-deliberation comments that they would have convicted in manslaughter in the first degree, but the state did not give them that option. After the evidence has been presented at a trial, the judge can instruct the jury on additional crimes if he or she believes the evidence supports consideration of another charge; in this case the judge instructed on only the same charge the State filed in the beginning.

    • Trevor March 16, 2018, 7:37 am

No, you don’t need “intent” to be convicted of murder. Don’t attempt to sound smarter than you really are.

      • Tim Tucker March 16, 2018, 8:09 am

        Trevie….
You obviously need to go back to school and acquire your G.E.D. – focus on 8th grade Civics as a class that will teach you that absent of malice, or intent – it is NOT a murder trial. Other options a prosecutor MAY consider would be manslaughter. As that WAS NOT an option in the instructions to the jury in this case
Pick up a good book about the Constitution of the United States and the Amendments. Have someone read it to you and explain what it means. And, yes, you can keep the pacifier in your mouth.

      • Don March 16, 2018, 8:19 am

I agree with Okie, for Murder in the 1st degree, yes you do need to show intent to commit murder. That is what makes it 1st degree.

        • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:43 pm

Like opening the drawer with a gun in it. grabbing a gun. Taking the safety of said gun. Pointing said gun at a person. And finally pulling the trigger…. that seems like intent to kill that fella.

      • Roy March 16, 2018, 9:32 am

Every crime, including homocide requires intent. Now if by “intent” Trevor is referring to premeditation – then he is partly right. The level of intent is the defining difference between Murder and Manslaughter. Murder is intentional killing whereas Manslaughter is causing death through reckless disregard or neglect. Feel free to look it up on Black”s Law Dictionary. These two terms are so settled in law that while individual states may decide what is reckless disregard or neglect as opposed to intentional both meet the mens rhea requirement of the crime of homocide.

Trevor – ever hear the term “mens rhea” – a/k/a “the guilty mind”. It is the legal standard for intent. You do not have to intend to kill person A when you point a gun at person B. You may not even intend to kill person B – your desire is to strike fear in person B. You sneeze and the gun has a hair trigger so it goes off and kills person A. Did you “intend” to kill person A? Not in the most direct and traditional use of the word. Are you guilty of murder (manslaughter) – absolutely – you intended to brandish the gun which is capable of causing death and you had carless disregard for the safety of person A and your carelessness and the intent to use the gun are sufficient to convict under the law. The test in the law is not “premeditation” that is why we have “premeditated murder” in the vocabulary and in many states (I believe OK is one of them) a conviction of “premeditated murder” means automatic life without the possibility of parole is the minimum sentence, the only option is death or prison until the convicted dies and neither the Judge nor the Jury can pick any other punishment. Another example would be “heated passion” – man comes home and finds his wife in bed with another man, inflamed with anger husband kills both lovers. Did he “intend” to kill them? YES – this is murder. Was it “premeditated”? No.

      • Okie March 16, 2018, 2:13 pm

Trevor, I do wish to apologize to you for sounding smarter than I am. That was not my INTENT. 🙂

  • Jay March 16, 2018, 5:44 am

Bail bondsmen do have more authority to arrest those who bond they hold as stipulated by the supreme court many years ago. They and bounty hunters even have given extradition rights that local law enforcement does not posses without court and hearings. In the video all I can see is a extreme over reaction to a situation. I was not there and can not comment on if there were any extenuating circumstances, like previous trouble with this man but what would’ve been wrong with pointing the gun at the man and telling him he is under arrest and let the son cuff him. Shooting the guy might not have been necessary! Many unanswered questions and lack of information to this video and trail for sure!

  • Willy March 16, 2018, 5:36 am

Wow, so many of the comments are flat out judgemental. The language that is used and the tone of the comments is a really sad commentary on the attitudes of people these days. Best thing to do is mind your own business and not draw conclusions from something you really know nothing about.

Turning a blind eye and “minding your own business” only encourages more of this despicable behavior. All those who truly want to MAGA will get involved and take a stand. Okie’s comment was right on the money.

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:45 pm

      Your dumb

  • josh March 16, 2018, 5:23 am

from the report i saw, the woman was tried with 1st degree murder. ofcourse thats going to get thrown. if she was slapped with 2nd degree then she would be in jail. regardless, the claim was that there was a fight over the gun, the video says otherwise. people have been put in jail for less.
the man appears to be leaving when she shot him. what happened off camera is up to debate, but i have yet to see any reports that said he went to his car to get a gun which would have justified the shooting. so to me, because she was a bondsmen, its the state protecting one of their own. sure he was a criminal, doesnt mean he was violent or even a bad person, just someone who makes bad decisions. but when a botched conviction for 1st degree, then yeah bad call on the justice department cus this was more like 2nd degree.

  • Ernest Lipps March 16, 2018, 4:31 am

So a bottom feeder shot a criminal, what’s the big deal. He is 38 years old and defenseless, I doubt that, and if has not turned his life around by that age he probably had no intentions of doing so. Was the lady justified, the jury was in a better position to judge that than us sports fans journalist?

    • Tim Tucker March 16, 2018, 8:11 am

\”….the jury was in a better position to judge that than us sports fans journalist\”EXACTLY…….

        Holster sniffer

    • joe March 16, 2018, 11:24 am

ok the guy was 38 hadnt turned his life around robbed a few houses, not good

the bail bond lady murdered the thief, are you concerned about her turning her life around, or will she have to kill a few more before you consider her to be no good?

    • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:48 pm

You must be a hard core leftists.

      • mike March 19, 2018, 3:14 pm

You know…its really effing spooky that someone like the Jakester here could be the guy standing next to you in the elevator. What a damn illiterate moron. Proly got a criminal record and had no daddy around. Single mom on govment assistance of some type. Just guessing but I’m probably close.

  • Lee Kramer March 16, 2018, 3:57 am

DAMN WHAT THE HELL EVER HAPPENED TO INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!!! THAT WAS COLD BLOODED! THE KIDS REACTION TELLS YOU THAT. WHETHER HE WAS GUILTY OR NOT ASSUMING SO AS SOME OF THESE COMMENTS REVEAL AND THE CAVALIER ATTITUDE SHOOK ME UP! DAMN!!

    • DCA March 16, 2018, 9:29 am

Agree with Kramer. How can we expect law enforcement to get better at keeping guns from truly dangerous (e.g. mentally incompetent) when they can’t even keep them away from their own unqualified officers. This woman belongs in jail for murder, period.

    • YELLING March 16, 2018, 12:00 pm

  • Jim Hilbun March 16, 2018, 3:35 am

Only from what I can see I would hate to defend this woman in court. If she felt she was in the right, what’s with trying cover up the camera%? I would suspect altering the evidence. Damn lucky to get off on this case. Might get a civil suit though.

  • Chris March 14, 2018, 6:31 pm

Well you guys who say good riddance to a criminal are FUCKING IDIOTS!!!! You don’t know what his crimes are or if he was working on turning things around. People do deserve chances. He obviously showed up voluntarily and was talking with her until she was going to take him into custody. Obviously he should have complied and figured things out later but she was in no harm, he was trying to get away. He came in, sat down, shook her sons hand & was smiling. then when things changed he put his shoe back on grabbed his belongings and tried to flee out the back. Her son didn’t look alarmed or scared, until she shot him. She didn’t look alarmed or scared and wasn’t fending him off, she was looking for her pistol and shot him in the back. To all you armchair commandos that think there’s one less criminal on the street, you better hope that your never in a situation with a woman like this who is playing cop with her 19 year old son, and doesn’t shoot you because there will likely be no sympathy. You people are pathetic and ignorant of real life, the laws and what the consequences of ones actions should be.

      AMEN!

    • Tim Tucker March 16, 2018, 8:29 am

      Chrissie:
Please allow me to apologize to your parents, on behalf of the failed birth control that resulted in YOU…..
      1. We only see a PARTIAL VIDEO. What the THUG was doing – off camera…we cannot address here, unless you want to get all emotional on us..( Uh..yeah – too late huh?)
      2. If you are STUPID ENOUGH to be a criminal, AND try to run away from a BAIL BOND AGENT – who is LEGALLY empowered to use deadly force *IF* they deem necessary -then please go to the veterinarian of your choice and get neutered or spayed. You will save us all time and money paying for your failed sperm growing up without a father…or mother..how ever you happen to \”identify\” this week…..
      3. As for \”armchair commando\”…how do you even qualify to judge that – or for that matter use a keyboard? Your ability to think must have been \”blunted\” ( yes Chris -I AM saying that your lack of thinking sounds like you are a dope-head…) The REAL lesson should be – DON\’T BE A THUG…and sit in a public place doing your toe-picking and bullshitting about hot-rods, when you SHOULD be working, and OBEYING THE LAW.

Timmy, Timmy, Timmy….please get back on your meds before you go shoot up a mall or school somewhere. Oh, wait, maybe you should get off your meds so that you don’t do that.

        • Dan Peterson March 16, 2018, 11:09 am

This whole “crazy” insult nonsense is beyond tired and pathetic.

You have no logical argument so you spout out ad hominid attacks, how unintellectual and imbecilic.

Contribute substantively to the conversation or just keep your nonsense to yourself.

          • Mark Are March 16, 2018, 10:20 pm

You want me to follow your example? Good one…

  • SuperG March 14, 2018, 11:01 am

It doesn’t appear he was threatening great bodily harm to anyone, especially since he was shot in the back. I do not agree with the jury on this one, but I have no sympathy for the dead criminal either.

  • Dr Motown March 14, 2018, 7:46 am

She needed better backup than that son of hers, who did nothing to help detain the suspect. While it doesn’t look “justifiable,” he certainly didn’t cooperate with the arrest, and I can’t say I’m broken up about getting another POS off the streets.

    • Edward M Pate March 16, 2018, 9:48 am

Agreed, she went into that totally unprepared and is going to get fried by the legal system.

  • ed March 13, 2018, 9:27 pm

It never said whether he actually had a gun or weapon of any kind

  • Mark March 13, 2018, 8:58 pm

This was a cold blooded murder, there was no threat. Bail bonds people are bottom feeders who profit off our injustice system. Even her own son couldn’t believe what was done.

    • Surprised March 16, 2018, 4:03 am

She had time to with obvious anger but not much haste, open up her drawer and pull the gun and stand there for a second and aim and shoot. She shouldn’t have got off. The prosecution was incompetent. Given what she did, the kid is probably traumatized and will likely get killed by some other worthless bondsman after committing some comparatively minor crime.

      • Tim Tucker March 16, 2018, 8:34 am

YOU are only seeing PART of what happened. We CANNOT see the off camera struggle with him. He was TRYING TO RUN, ESCAPE, and the intent on his part was NOT to co-operate with a sworn officer to the court (as Bail Bondsmen must be in virtually EVERY state, by the terms of their license…)
SO, WHY sympathize with a PROVEN THUG. This guy WAS NOT AN INNOCENT…he had a STRING of offensives. NOT A PRINCE.

  • Jaque March 13, 2018, 8:53 pm

SHE MURDERED THIS GUY. WHAT ABOUT HIS RIGHTS. HER SON SHOWED NO SIGN THE DEAD MAN WAS VIOLENT. BY DISABLING THE CAMERA THE SON COMITTED A CRIME. I HOPE THE DEAD GUYS FAMILY FILES A CIVIL SUIT AND PUTS THAT BITCH INTO POVERTY

    • Tim Tucker March 16, 2018, 8:38 am

      Jaque:
Try THINKING rather than EMOTIONALIZING a little….YOU – nor anyone else on the comments here KNOW what went on beyond the view of the camera.
It is a good thing that you, who cannot remain neutral enough to ask the question about what else went on – were not on the jury.
You sound like you would also believe that .J. was innocent……because because of your \”feelings\”…as opposed to the FACTS.

      • Mark Are March 16, 2018, 8:46 am

Timmy, you seem to be the emotional one on this thread. One who loves the state and it’s agents and who bows down daily as a good slave to all of their wonderful edicts aka “laws”. Sad that I might have to consider you a “countryman”. Gag me with a place setting.

      • joe March 16, 2018, 11:31 am

Timmy,,,,,,,,,,,the autopsy said the victim was bent over exiting the window,

were you one of the idiots on the jury?

      • Jake March 16, 2018, 2:51 pm

You sir are a badge bunnie, holster sniffing asshat

    • Edward M Pate March 16, 2018, 9:50 am

Hey that CAP locks can be turned on and off you know.

  • Bobs yer uncle March 13, 2018, 5:03 pm

The only good burglar is a……….. justified? don’t look like it to me. Maybe we can get her some more ammo and have her come to work in our area.
