CMMG is expanding their Banshee series of AR-based firearms with a fleet of new pistols and short-barreled rifles chambered for 10mm Auto. The 10mm guns all use CMMG’s radial-delayed blowback system which has a real leg up on straight blowback designs that make up most of the market.
With other popular pistol-caliber cartridges CMMG’s delayed blowback system is a cool way to reduce felt recoil and gas blowback while running suppressed, but in 10mm it will make a noticeable difference in the shooting experience.
CMMG is launching with six 10mm models, including three pistols and three short-barreled rifles. Each has a basic model with minimal furniture, a standard model with premium furniture and an enhanced model with premium furniture and ambidextrous controls.
They come with a heavy H3 buffer, a lighter buffer and a 3.5-ounce tuning weight for the bolt carrier to work with a wide range of 10mm loads. Extra-heavy buffers are available separately for running suppressed.
In addition to complete firearms, CMMG is offering populated uppers and a complete bolt carrier group and barrel combo all chambered for 10mm. The parts are designed to work with CMMG receivers with last-round bolt-hold-open capability with Glock-pattern magazines.
Prices start at $1,299 for the pistols, $1,349 for the rifles and $774 for the complete uppers. All NFA rules and regulations apply for the firearms and uppers when paired with lowers.
The bolt carrier and barrel combo runs $399 for AR builders who want a 10mm gun that uses CMMG’s delayed blowback system. CMMG recommends using their receivers with the builder set since they require some receiver modification for compatibility.

The barrel combo and all the uppers and firearms come with an 8-inch 4140 chromoly steel barrel and bolt assembly with a salt bath nitride finish. The barrel has standard .578-28 threads for common muzzle devices.
Complete firearms and uppers have forged 7075-T6 alloy receivers and in-house modular M-Lok handguards. They come with a MIL-SPEC hard-anodized finish or, for a little extra, a Cerakote finish in one of 10 tacticool colors including tan, olive drab, grey, bronze and more.
The rifles and pistols ship with one 30-round SGM magazine or one 10-round Glock magazine.
Pistol-caliber carbines and PCC pistols are the new hotness on today’s market with solid offerings from many different manufacturers, but CMMG’s radial-delayed blowback stands out on its own. Combined with 10mm Auto these new Banshee products put CMMG in a real position of advantage.
