Magnum Research: New York-Legal Desert Eagle in .50AE – SHOT Show 2018

Do you Deagle?

From Magnum Research this year, we have a mixed bag of new finishes and new firearms. Good news if you are a collector, the case hardened line has been extended. The .50 AE, .44 Magnum, and .357 Magnum models are all shipping now!

TIG Series

This TIG Series from Magnum Research.

Magnum Research is also cooking up something really special for 2018.  The “TIG Series” Desert Eagle chambered in .50 AE.  Not your average Deagle, this limited edition hand cannon sports a custom Battle Worn Bronze Cerakote finish.  Only 250 will be released.

One of the best parts about purchasing this pistol is that Magnum Research is donating a portion of the proceeds to the Beyond the Battlefield Foundation, which helps wounded combat veterans get back on their feet.

Beyond the Battlefield was founded by John “TIG” Tiegen and his wife Margaret in 2017.  Tiegen, a Marine veteran and former security contractor, co-authored the book “13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened In Benghazi.”

Each of the 250 TIG pistols will have engravings that include its number in the series, the TIG logo, TIG’s signature and the Beyond the Battlefield logo.

New York Compliant L5

L5 Now in .50AE

In the sticking it to the man department, the L5 has an update. The L5 was my favorite from last year, a lightened and shortened Desert Eagle designed specifically for New York.

New York, which finished third in the Communist Dictatorship Olympics (coming in beyond California and New Jersey), has a maximum weight for handguns that may be sold to their subjects.

Magnum Research gave them the business last year with a .44 Magnum built to that standard. This year, the line expands to include a .50 Action Express!  Woohoo!

Outlaw Ordnance 1911

Be on the lookout for these custom 1911s, a joint venture between Magnum Research and Outlaw Ordnance.

Last, but certainly not least, Magnum Research has stepped all the way down to .45 ACP. Basically a plinking round for a company that makes autos in bear-stopping calibers.

In conjunction with Outlaw Ordnance, Magnum Research is releasing a limited run of 1911 pistols. These 1911s will be custom engraved, with special finishes and grips. As of this moment, only 50 are being made, so go grab yours quick.

Specs, pricing and, details to come.  To find more information on any of these handguns, make sure you visit MagnumResearch.com.

In California the Desert Eagle is only available for sale in 44 mag, it’s illegal for sale in 50AE and 357 mag.
Also the firing pin and block has been altered and unique to the CA 44 magnum. The only evidence that makes it a California gun is the paper sticker on the box and upon close examination the retaining plate and altered firing pin. Ironically the Mark XXI can easily converted to 357/50AE with the appropriate barrel, rotating bolt (357) and magazine. Who determines these asinine rules? Well it’s California bureaucrats, enough said.

It doesn’t matter what you do, those people will never be happy until they’ve banished every firearm from within their borders. Give them a few months and they’ll come up with something.
