Say Hello to the New Nighthawk Custom VIP Black

Nighthawk Custom is launching a new high-end 1911 that looks as good as it carries, the VIP Black. This pistol is built for use even with all its fancy trappings.

Nighthawk puts the VIP Black into their presentation grade, and it shows. It features hand engraving by Bertram Edmonston from the muzzle to the beavertail and around the slide serrations and ejection port.

The frame has vertical grip serrations as well as a serrated mainspring housing for extra purchase. The entire pistol is finished with an extremely hard diamondlike-coating to make it last.

Part everyday-carry, part heirloom gun, the VIP has a solid 14-karat gold bead front sight and exotic giraffe bone grips. Each gun ships in its own locking walnut hardwood presentation case.

To make sure that it’s a shooter, Nighthawk uses Heinie Slant Pro sights front and rear. The gold bead sight is paired with a serrated black rear sight. The VIP has a recessed, crowned barrel for improved accuracy.

Like all classic 1911 pistols, the VIP Black is chambered for .45 ACP. It’s a full-size government-pattern gun with a 5-inch barrel and 8+1 capacity.

Other improvements include a lowered and flared ejection port, extended slide stop and right-hand safety and extended magazine release button.

Additionally, the pistol has a medium trigger and skeletonized hammer and extended beavertail.

As one of Nighthawk Custom’s finest heirloom pieces, the VIP Black comes with a premium price point at $7,999. Purchasers can also opt for a fluted barrel hood for an additional $75.

Nighthawk is a premiere 1911 manufacturer that combines the best of modern manufacturing with time-tested gunsmithing practice. Each gun is built by a single gunsmith to ensure every part is fit and tested together.

This is a new kind of offering from Nighthawk. While all of their guns are meant for real users and all of their guns are built to look great, the VIP Black is meant to excel at both.  For more information visit

If you are going to spend this kind of money on a handgun do you really want just another 1911?
You might want to look at a Korth in 45 acp.
It costs more, but it is far better and exclusive.

Agree with the decision for a Korth at this price.

Otherwise, this is a beautiful 1911, like many high end 1911s.
