The SIG Sauer P365 is the hotness these days. Everyone wants ‘em, has ‘em — or outright hates ‘em because they’re jealous that their own subcompact carry pistol doesn’t have that 12+1-round capacity.

Whatever box you check you might consider getting a P365 BB pistol from SIG AIR. Yes, even the P365 haters should consider getting one. It’s called “baby steps.” Start with AIR version and eventually you’ll graduate to the real deal. LOL.

The SIG P365 BB Pistol is CO2-powered with realistic blowback action that launches 4.5mm (.177 cal) steel BBs up to 295 FPS. With dimensions and features that pretty much mirror the centerfire P365 and a 12-round mag to boot, the BB pistol is an ideal training tool.

“The SIG P365 9mm pistol has won numerous awards for its concealability, performance, and exceptional magazine capacity and has quickly become the top choice for concealed carry,” said Joseph Huston, Vice President and General Manager of SIG AIR.

“Our new P365 BB Pistol will give P365 owners and others who carry for personal protection a training tool of the highest quality when a trip to the range for live fire is not possible,” he continued. “The P365 BB Pistol has similar balance and handling characteristics as the centerfire model and holds 12-rounds for realistic training. The drop magazine also allows fast and easy reloading.”

Someone needs to invent a pistol which will launch, by Co2 or other compressed gas, rock salt/ice cream salt at a muzzle velocity of close to 1000 feet per second. The chamber & muzzle would have to be made of a rather soft expandable but yet tough material so that it would chamber and spit out the odd shapes of rock salt. These would not need to have a carry permit as they would not be a “fire arm” and by the time the assailant gets to the E.R., the salt would be dissolved, i.e., no evidence. Rock salt is about the same size a .22 varying from .18″ to .25″. The pistol should be light weight and capable of holding at least 4 ounces of rock salt. Parts could be made of stainless steel or other rust and deterioration resistant metals or plastics or rubber combinations.
